Robeyphone “Everything Under the Sun”
This original horned gramophone was made by the Coventry company “George Robey” in about 1913. The company made a wide range of domestic items including bicycles, kettles and also gramophones which they sold by mail order. Some examples were labelled “Robeyphone”. The name “George Robey was later changed to “Charles T Robey ” to avoid confusion with George Robey the famous Music Hall star of that time. The Company also claimed to be “The World’s Provider” . Robeyphone gramophones often carried the logo ” Everything Under the Sun” as in this example. The gramophones were sold as “All British” , but some parts were probably made in Switzerland.
The gramophone is well made with a large steel embossed horn in original colours. There is a single spring motor. 10″ turntable and very good “Magnet” type sound-box. There are many fake gramophones on offer on EBay and else where and original ones are now hard to find.

The gramophone comes with 100 needles and a selection of 78s if required. Collect in person from TR8 5SE.
