Two minute “Indestructible” phonograph cylinders.
Most phonograph cylinders produced from 1900 were made of wax. Those that have survived are often in poor condition and play badly. From 1902 experimental cylinders were produced by Edison Bell and others that were made from much tougher materials and were called “Indestructible” . These cylinders play better than wax ones and really show what a phonograph can do. I am surprised that these cylinders were not more readily available and are now very difficult to find in the UK. The cylinders listed bellow and were collected in the US and were part of the Paul Collinette collection
