“Guiniphone” Portable Gramophone

“Guiniphone” Portable Gramophone

Categories: Gramophone

Here is a really quirky gramophone made by the Vickers Armstrong Company and made available in the UK in about 1929. The gramophone is a copy of an earlier design available in America and known as a “Polly Portable”. The gramophone dispenses with the standard sound-box and uses a card horn only to produce sound.

This example is in very good condition and is complete with its instruction disc and orignal card cone.

The gramophone plays well but the sound-quality does not compare with that produced by more standard machines. However it is a very desirable collector”s item. It comes with 100 needles and a small selection of 78s if required.

Price, including the cost of delivery £220.00
