Here is a portable Decca gramophone from about 1918. It is in the style of the “Trench gramophones ” that gained great popularity in WW1 but is slightly later in date. Decca used the system of “reflex sound” instead of using an amplifying horn and sound from the sound-box and short tone-arm is bounced off a bowl in the lid of the case and outwards towards the listener. The result is very effective.
This gramophone is in very good condition and plays very effectively using an original Decca sound-box.
The gramophone comes with 100 needles and a small selection of 78s if required. Delivery with DPD (Next day) is £30 and with Hermes £15.
