Here is an interesting portable gramophone from the early 1920s.
Bandmaster was a name used by a German manufacturing Company and several different types of Bandmaster gramophones found their way into the UK in the early 1920s. This is an example of a simple portable machine in an oak case and with an unusual pierced aluminium motor-board. There is a Swiss made original single spring motor also stamped with the Bandmaster name. A collection of needles can be stored in a needle cup and kept in place when the lid is close by a simple felt pad. A few records can be stored in the lid and are held there with a rotating spring clip.
The gramophone plays well and is completely original.
