Here is a nice example of the Edison "Standard" phonograph from about 1905. The oak case is in very good condition with the simple Edison Logo on the front.
The phonograph has a "Model C" reproducer so is capable of playing two minute phonograph cylinders
The typical black horn with brass flare with the machine is a later good quality reproduction, but an original alunimium horn could be supplied (see inset picture). The aluiminium horns were often preferred as they were lighter and caused less drag on the carrier supporting the reproducer while playing.
Four original two minute wax cylinders will be supplied with the machine. A modern reproduction two minute cylinder from "Vulcan" cylinders would cost an extra £15. These cylinders are excellent copies of original and contemporary music and often capable of showing off the phonograph's potential better than original ones. ( www.phonographcylinders.com)
