This is a completely genuine Peter Pan gramophone from 1924 in totally original condition.
The "Peter Pan" Gramophone Company operated out of London, and it is presumed that the machines were made in the UK but it is not known where. This small gramophone is referred to as a "Cameraphone" as it whas the appearance of the box cameras of the time. The turntable has four spokes that fold out and it, together with the tone arm (with goose-neck), the sound-box and winder, fits inside the lid when the machine is closed. The horn is a bellows type that also folds away. See inset pictures.
This gramophone is in particularly good condition and works well, giving surprisingly good sound quality. As a rule these small gramophones are more interesting as examples of oddities of the time, but this one is really effective.
