Here is a delightful small cabinet gramophone by "Itonia". This is a make that was very popular in the 1920s producing gramophones of all types using, mainly, bought-in components. However the gramophones were well made and reliable. This small cabinet gramophone is reminiscent of the "Tyrela" gramophones of the same period, which were more attractive than the standard cabinet machines. However instead of being round or oval, this one is shield shaped and has two bow-fronted doors and decorative wooden relief in mahogany. The overall condition is excellent and the machine plays well. There is a 12" turntable, the original "Itonia" sound-box and a double spring Garrard motor. The tone arm has a sideways turn-over for fitting a new needle and lifting the sound-box after playing.
The cabinet is quite small: 52cm deep, 47cm wide and 88cm high (approx 18" x 20" x 34")
