Here is a really nice example of the smallest of the Edison phonographs, the Model A.
The Model A is key-wound and it has the correct model "B" reproducer which is designed to play two minute cylinders. The plating and paintwork is in excellent condition
Originally the phonograph would have been sold with a simple basic cone horn, but this one has been upgraded with a spectacular brass horn with a separate stand to support it. The purpose of the stand is to reduce the pressure on the carrier as it guides the reproducer across the cylinder. Indeed any size of horn could be used with the phonograph as long as it has suitable support. Unusually the original connector is present to join the horn to the phonograph.
The lid carries the "Banner" logo for this model from about 1901.
The phonograph will be sold with a selection of four original wax cylinders. Others are available on request including rare two minute black indestructible "Lamberts" and reproduction "Vulcan" cylinders.
